Course Description:
 
This REPs recognized – Level 4 Low Back Pain (LBP) certificate is aimed at people looking to start working as employed/self employed exercise referral specialist instructor (Level 4 in LBP) at referral schemes set up at gyms, leisure centres or Hospitals through the NHS. This qualification can also allow you to gain employment as an exercise referral supervisor/coordinators.  Exercise referral instructors will perform fitness assessments and deliver personalized training programs to clients that have been referred by their GP's (or referred by other medically qualified professional). As an exercise referral supervisor/coordinator you could supervise/coordinate referral schemes. This course will teach you how to motivate clients to improve their overall health in a safe and effective way, while planning and delivering fitness sessions to clients with Lower Back Pain (LBP), using several training methods, such as: resistance training, cardiovascular exercises, core & stability training, stretches, etc.

Course Structure and Course Units:
 
This course can be completed via intensive training (face-to-face) studying for 10 days by one-to-one training or group classes followed by a theory exam and a practical exam; or via blended learning - completing the theory part of the course via distance learning (tutor support is available) followed by a theory exam, plus up to 5-10 practical sessions followed by a practical exam.
 
There are 2 units included on the Level 4 Lower Back Pain course:

1.Understanding low back pain and the effects of activity
2.Progressive exercise programming for clients with low back pain

Progression:

Pre-requisites:

Prior to enrolling into this course you need to be over 16 years old and you should have sound experience exercising in a gym environment (resistance training, free weights, cardiovascular exercises, etc.) You also need to hold a fitness level 3 GP & Exercise Referral qualification, contact us for more details.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL):

Let us know if you already completed any fitness courses, as you may be eligible to be exempted from units that you might have completed as part of your achieved fitness courses (this would include NVQs or Degrees), contact us for more details.
